Stories from the Street
A collection of art created by young people who have experienced homelessness.
Stories from the Street is a brand new book created by the young people from the Live Life project at Herts Young Homeless.
The group have produced a collection of creative writing, photography, poetry and art to express what homelessness means to them, and how they see their future now that they are out of crisis and on the road to independence and recovery. We also hope to give our young people a voice, a platform on which to express themselves and to raise awareness of the reality of homelessness and its effects on a young person entering adulthood.
The book is ultimately an inspiring and uplifting insight into the resilience of young people who have faced the bleakest of circumstances.
Thanks to the generosity of our funders, 100% of the proceeds will go to our services helping support young people in Hertfordshire facing homelessness.
“This chapter, this experience doesn’t define me. Things can change. We must work and we must want them to change. I will fight for a brighter future for all.”
Live Life is a project for young people who have experienced homelessness and facilities active involvement from young people in the running of hyh.
It also supports their voices to be heard in the local and national dialogue about youth homelessness.
