What is the service?
The 18+ Hub is a confidential service in Hertfordshire that can provide one-off advice to young people aged 18-24 who require guidance on their current housing situation, private renting or money advice / benefit information. The 18+Hub can also signpost to other agencies or services.
For those within the priority groups (see below) an allocated worker will provide solution-focused housing-related floating support for a maximum of six months. Each case will be reviewed on a regular basis.
Examples of the type of support provided include:
- General tenancy sustainment
- Independent living skills
- Finding suitable accommodation
- Income / budgeting
- Education and training
- Debt advice
- Co-ordinate plans with relevant partner agencies to ensure that all support needs are met
Herts Young Homeless (hyh) and Aldwyck, as subcontractor, are working in partnership to deliver the 18+ Hub service.
Who is the service for?
All 18 to 24 year olds, who require general housing advice or guidance regarding their current or future accommodation, private renting advice or money advice / benefit information.
The team’s priority groups for an extended service are:
- Care leavers
- Those leaving supported accommodation
- Those at risk of eviction from temporary and permanent accommodation
Vulnerable 18-24 young people in need can be considered for the extended service but this is dependent on service demand for the above groups.

For priority groups, Floating Support is available for up to six months.
