Lisa’s Story

Vicki, one of our advice and information workers, speaks about her work with Lisa, 17, who came to us for support after her family reacted badly to the news that she was gay.

Lisa felt like her family didn’t want her anymore and she spent months sofa surfing, bouncing from friend to friend, and at times finding herself in dangerous situations. With support from our mediation team, Lisa and her family have made great steps toward rebuilding their relationship and Lisa is back in her family home.
