Our working hours are 9.00am – 5.00pm from Monday to Friday.

Due to the nature of our work, hyh is rarely able to offer frontline volunteering positions. However, if you have the relevant skills and experience please outline this on the prospective volunteer form.

Sartaz's story

"I remember coming across an advert which sought a volunteer for the education team of Herts Young Homeless during the end of my first year of reading law at the University of Hertfordshire.

What started as a role that I thought would give me a great platform to use and hone my public speaking skills, taught me so much more. It elevated my surface level understanding of the homelessness issue to a point where I now understand that the stereotypes attached with individuals suffering from homelessness are far away from the realities of people who are homeless and honestly, it is something which can happen to anyone. I am glad to have been a part of an organisation who's existence makes a difference and does such good work for the community.

Also, I got to work with probably the coolest and most supportive team I know."
