Here at hyh, we know that a safe, stable home is the foundation that young people need to build the bright futures they deserve. Having the security of a stable home is essential for a sense of wellbeing and creates the space that young people need to thrive in education, their careers and their relationships.

That is why, this summer, we are launching our Brighter Futures appeal. And Aviva Community Fund are providing match funding, which means that your donation to our summer appeal will be doubled and make twice the impact for young people.

Empowering young people to succeed

Our expert and compassionate support workers, advisors and educators empower young people to build the futures they dream of. We give young people the strong foundation they need to move confidently through their next steps in education and their careers.

We are proud to deliver a service that not only supports young people who have become homeless but also works proactively to prevent homelessness.

Transforming lives

Many of those who we help have experienced difficult circumstances and trauma in their lives. And these young people often do not have a support network around them to support them during difficult times.

This was true for Omar, a care leaver, who is unable to rely on his family for support. Our services help fill this gap, and our team work intensively with young people like Omar to help them overcome the difficulties they are facing.

By providing 1-1 support, we can help young people like Omar build up the crucial skills needed to live independently, such as budgeting and managing a tenancy.

With our support, Omar is not only growing more confident managing his home, he is also thriving in his career as an electrician. Omar is the proud recipient of an Under 30's award for excellence and promise in his sector.

Your support matters

Times are currently very challenging for young people, most profoundly of all for those who are already vulnerable. And these pressures are causing a surge in the number of young people being pushed into homelessness across the country and here in Hertfordshire.

At the very same time we are seeing an increased demand for our services our running costs have spiked due to the continuing rises in the cost of living. With your support we can meet this increased demand and continue to deliver our life changing services for the young people who need us.
