To celebrate National Volunteers Week (June 1 to 7) we’re looking at the ways hyh’s wonderful volunteers help make a difference in their community.
And if you’d like to join them, we have plenty of opportunities available whether you’re looking to make a regular commitment or want something a bit more ad hoc.
Katie is one of our selfless volunteers who gives her time to help Herts Young Homeless support vulnerable, young people.
As part of hyh’s Mediation team, Katie works with young people and their families to help resolve conflict, and enable better relationships and positive communication, all of which assists in preventing homelessness.
hyh is very proud to launch its new Nightstop Herts service providing short-term emergency accommodation for young people aged 18 to 24, who would otherwise have nowhere else to go.
Local TSB branch manager Maria Militello put her best foot forward to raise £155 for Hatfield-based charity Herts Young Homeless (hyh) with a sponsored walk along 17 miles of the Grand Union Canal.
