On May 26th, 9 intrepid cyclists left Greenwich Park in London on the start of their 5 day journey to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The cyclists, all employees of Herts Young Homeless (hyh) embarked on the challenge to raise much needed funds for the charity.
The Eiffel Tower was reached at 9.30 pm on Bank Holiday Monday after 5 days of blood, sweat, toil and, yes, tears. As they approached the victorious heroes under the famous old iron structure they were overwhelmed with unbridled admiration and elation.
The chief executive of the organisation, Glenn Middleton, who was also on the bike ride as support crew hugged each one of them. He said “The courage and motivation of the riders to reach their goal and the commitment of the support crew to help them do it created a team spirit of huge proportions.”
