Golfers scrambled into action to support hyh at this year’s Charity Golf Day at Harpenden Common.
The event, sponsored by Hertford-based construction and property consultants Westside Services, raised over £9,200.
Making the most of the spectacular weather was Team Lama, led by professional caddie Mike Morley, who saw off the competition to lift the coveted hyh shield, by a point from the GPFM Juniors.
Nick Wright took home the trophy for the Longest Drive and Martin Ball was Nearest the Pin.
Managers from the Nationwide branches in Harpenden, Hitchin and Stevenage were on hand to serve up the refreshments at the halfway house and another of our supporters, the Mayor of Harpenden David Heritage, presented the prizes to the winning teams.
“Our golf day is always one of our biggest fundraisers and this year was no exception raising just over £9,000 which will go towards helping some of Hertfordshire’s most vulnerable people,” said hyh’s Head of Fundraising Kathryn Salmon.
“Thank you to everybody who attended and made the day possible. We were overwhelmed by your generosity.”
Thank you to all the staff at Harpenden Common Golf Club and our other sponsors -- Echelon Consultancy, Ashbourne Insurance, Cariad Marketing, Evodo Services, GPFM, Harrisons Accountancy, John Robinson and The Concrete Network.
We’d also like to thank the many people and organisations who donated auction and raffle prizes and of course, the golfers who made the day so enjoyable.
