Away from our frontline services which support vulnerable people who are homeless or at risk of becoming so, we have a sociable group of dedicated volunteer fundraisers, known as Friends of hyh.

They hold fundraising events, including organising the popular Codicote Choir Charity Night on September 14,

Money raised by our Friends group is used to provide white goods and other large household items to young people being supported by hyh who are moving into accommodation and have no other means to buy these essentials.

The Friends group was set up by hyh’s former CEO Sue Cummings.

I’m proud that all the funds we raise go directly to the young people. We are able to buy white goods, fridges, beds, mattresses, whatever they need to help them create a secure happy home and a more positive future,” said Sue.

Volunteering for Friends is flexible as we realise people have many other commitments but if you would like to use your spare time to help make a difference to the lives of vulnerable young people  in your community then please email This email address is being protected from spambots.
