Everyone at hyh would like to say a massive “thank you” to Stanborough School for their phenomenal fundraising efforts over the last school year.
The Welwyn Garden City secondary school raised over £10,000 for us through a variety of activities.
“We really can’t thank the staff and students of Stanborough enough,” said hyh’s Community & Events Fundraiser, Alison Wildey.
“They raised an incredible amount of money for hyh which will go towards supporting vulnerable young people in the local community.
“Everyone at hyh was really impressed with the enthusiasm Stanborough brought to their fundraising and the variety of events they put on.”
Our year as the school’s chosen charity started at speed with over £5,000 donated from the hugely successful Run for Stanborough. Many other events followed, including Christmas jumper Day, a carol concert, bake sales.
A group of entrepreneurial Year 12 students raised £2,814.70 as part of the Welwyn Hatfield Dragons’ Apprentice Challenge where they were asked to turn £100 into £1,000 for their chosen charity.
Their amazing efforts were rewarded with the ‘Best Co-Operation’ award.
The final fundraiser was the summer term’s Festival on The Field, which featured plenty of stalls and live music from the school’s talented pupils.
