Dressing Up: the Cars of Science (l) and the Trekkies of Technology

Thank you to Stanborough School in Welwyn Garden City who got their year supporting hyh off to the most amazing start by raising over £5,000 for us.

The annual ‘Run for Stanborough’ fundraiser saw staff and pupils don fancy dress to take part in the sponsored event before heading back to the school for a variety of different stalls, run by students from Year 11, 12 and 13, ranging from bottle flipping to leg waxing!

The afternoon ended with the traditional teacher ‘gunging’ and the unlucky victims this year were English teacher Mr Ware, head boy Rhys Jose and maths teacher Miss Prockova who found themselves covered in an unpleasant-looking concoction of baked beans, custard and assorted gloop!

"I'd like to pass on our heartfelt thanks to all the students and staff involved in Run for Stanborough. We're incredibly grateful for their support,” said hyh‘s Community and Events fundraiser Alison Wildey.

The whole event looked a great deal of fun and I hope everyone was able to enjoy themselves while raising money for hyh.

The School Council at Stanborough have chosen to make Herts Young Homeless their Charity of the Year.
