During the summer term, 13 determined students from class 10M at Garston Manor School completed the Giving Nation Spirit Challenge as part of their Citizenship Education project.

They spent 10 weeks researching their chosen charity, and invited Maggie Foster from hyh’s Education Service to come into the school to talk about housing, homelessness and leaving home. The class then carefully planned their fundraising activity – a bag-packing event - and even designed and printed their own T-shirts to wear.

On 4th July, class 10M spent 5 hours at ASDA in Watford packing bags at the check-outs. They raised a fantastic £446.22 for hyh.

Well done, Class 10M! Thank you so much for all your hard work, and a big thank you as well to your teachers and all those who supported you.
