Christmas Tree Festival

This year hyh, entered into the annual Hitchin Christmas Tree Festival in the Holy Saviour Church Radcliffe Road, Hitchin, to help raise the profile of hyh and raise funds. Our  tree entry was  ‘Homeless in Herts’, sporting our new logo and wooden shapes, containing figures and facts about homelessness and doors with celebrities behind, that were once homeless themselves. This year the festival received over 2,000 visitors. 25 trees where entered, from individuals, groups and charities. There were four categories for winners, adults groups and business, children’s groups, individuals and family, and the visitor’s votes. The standard of entries was extremely high and unfortunately we did not get into any of the categories. However, a great deal of interest was shown in our tree and we were donated £50 in our donation pot! So many thanks to all who came along and supported the event.
